Small Stage Sessions
Small Stage Sessions is Bond Street Event Centre’s Open Mic Night for musicians, poets and short filmmakers.
These open mic nights offer up-and-coming performers the opportunity to test their skills on a receptive crowd of like-minded creatives. In order to offer each performer adequate stage time, the format for musical acts will be solos, duos or trios only performing 15-minute sets (drum kits not permitted) and the Centre will be providing PA equipment and a sound technician. Filmmakers who would like to showcase their creations will be given a 10-minute screening and are asked to bring a copy of their film to the venue by 6:20pm on the night. Poets will also be given a 10-minute set to perform their written works.
To secure a spot in the open mic night a blackboard will be placed at the front of the stage and performers will be allocated a set time on a first-in-first-on basis.
If you are interested in local musicians, poets and filmmakers please come along and be a part of an encouraging and supportive audience – note this particular event is for ages 16+ and minors must be accompanied by a guardian. The bar will be open and a delicious light supper will be available for only $5.
Entry is $10 at the door and goes towards the continued running of these events.
Bond Street Event Centre is a social enterprise with a mission to contribute to the development of a fair, creative, just, informed, rational and enlightened community.
If you have any questions about the running of the open mic nights, please contact David at the Centre on 5182 8770.

'The Sea's The Thing' by Julie Ward
Julie Ward, nee Stephenson, was born in Sale, Gippsland Victoria.
Her love of the ocean is evident in her interpretation of the sea. Bold, strident colours, often with palette-knife texture , form the greater part of her large canvases. It’s no wonder her works are large and bright, a reflection of life-changing corneal graft operations as a young adult.
Julie enjoys painting landscapes too, the freedom of abstracts and the discipline of portraits, but the sea remains a huge draw card painting in her Art Sea studio in Seaspray.
