Train enthusiasts David Kett and Daryl Wilson will be reflecting on trains in Victoria and our local area at the Bond Street Event Centre between 3:30pm and 5:00 pm on April 30th.
David Kett and his son Nathan will also be providing an opportunity to view a display of David’s father’s collection of 64 hand-built scale models, based on trains from the mid 1800s to 2000. The exhibition will be on display from 1:00pm- 3:30pm and for a limited time after the presentations. Everyone is welcome to drop in to view the models and have a chat with David and his son.
Trains have long been an abiding interest in the Kett family. David’s father Robert, born in 1923, devoted a lifetime to building models of Victorian railway history. Robert’s first railway was a 1:12 scale model of a suburban electric route, and ran around the backyard of his family home in Chadstone from 1953 into the 1960s.
Also on display is a colour reproduction of Harold Freedmen’s “History of Transport” mural; one of the main sources of detail for the models.
This event is free and is a must see for any train enthusiast.
