Dyarni is a young contemporary Indigenous artist. Dyarni has Wongatha, Noongar and Yamitji Indigenous heritage on her paternal side from Western Australia and Yuin Indigenous heritage on her maternal side from Jervis Bay area, South Coast NSW.
Dyarni was born in Kalgoorlie and spent her early years in a remote community several hundred kilometres north east of Kalgoorlie, on the edge of the Great Victoria Desert. Dyarni has made trips to Jervis Bay area to spend time on country with extended family.
Dyarni’s Autism and other significant health challenges give her works uniqueness of perspective and colour. Her creations are a strong and important part of her connection to her Indigenous cultural heritage with the colours, landscapes, animals and flora of both the desert and the ocean providing inspiration for many of her works.
Dyarni has been living in coastal Gippsland, Gunaikurnai country for the last four years and is excited to have her work exhibited and for sale, at Bond Street Event Centre, Sale Gippsland.
