Birds of Gippsland, fungi, wildflowers and orchids- Peter Ware

BIRDS OF GIPPSLAND, FUNGI, WILDFLOWERS AND ORCHIDS

PETER WARE

Bug Blitz Trust and the Bond Street Event Centre are pleased to provide the local community with an opportunity to attend a presentation on Thursday the 8th of July by Peter Ware – Friends of Drouin’s Trees.

Peter’s presentation will provide an appreciation of some of Gippsland’s valued fungi, wild flowers, orchids and bird species.

Our region has special and diverse species of flora, fauna and fungi. From the alps to the coast, the biodiversity of our corner of the world is remarkable and precious.  Peter will discuss the intricate web of connections between species that is often poorly, or in some cases, not yet fully understood and that birds are often good biodiversity indicators of environmental health.

Peter Ware is a former teacher, naturalist of Gippsland and author. He was instrumental in the formation of the Heyfield Birdos Group. Since shifting to Drouin, Peter continues to play a role as a citizen scientist, regularly surveying birdlife around Gippsland.

The presentation is free and will begin promptly at 7:00pm and finish no later than 9:00 pm.

Seats are limited, so if you like to attend this presentation please ring David on 0351828770 or send an email to bondstreeteventcentre@optusnet.com.au
